Flower bed in Alderley Edge Park
The Parish Council invited our Bowling Group to set up flower beds alongside the Bowling Green in Alderley Edge Park. Members planted a range of spring bulbs, annuals, hellebores and fuchsia plants to complement the roses, alliums and crown imperials already there. Since then, we have added a variety of dwarf conifers and other plants to give some colour and interest during winter.
Wilmslow in Bloom Team
Wilmslow in bloom is a community organisation. It is made up from various groups and communities throughout Wilmslow area.
Bob Rajan, member of Wilmslow U3A, has joined the friendly team of volunteers affiliated to 'Wilmslow in Bloom'. These volunteers set up beautiful garden plots and flower tubs in and around Wilmslow town and the activity is sponsored by the Wilmslow Town Council.
The pictures on the right shows the 'Rectory' plots being made ready, after Winter (25/26), for adding more young plants to provide colour for the rest of the year.
Wilmslow u3a members, - if you are thinking of volunteering, please contact Bob Rajan, Web Manager. Your support is always welcome.

Wilmslow Health & Wellbeing Fair (9 May 2026)

#Connected Wilmslow Community Group Fair
The fair was held at the Wilmslow United Reformed Church Hall on 8 March. Over 1000 people attended the event.
We presented the ways in which we offer our activities to our members. We are confident that our presence at the Fair will help attract new members to our u3a.
Furthermore, we made contacts with other organisations that interact with people living in Wilmslow and the neighbouring areas. The Town Council staff and Councillors invited us to contribute to the "Wilmslow Town Wellbeing Efforts", such as helping Wilmslow in Bloom, which supports the campaign to keep Wilmslow in Bloom (see below for more information). Our professional interaction with the Town Council is expected to bring benefits to our u3a.
Planting Trees and Shrubs at the Browns Lane Park
At the Browns Lane Park, on 14 March, we joined other volunteers, Helen Yates, Community Coordinator, Wilmslow Town Council and Councillors Lata Anderson and David Jefferay. The team, including young persons, helped in the planting of over 50 edible plants donated by the Town Council. As the park is a public place, in future fruit picking could be encouraged.
